Using Google Search Console
Let’s start by signing up for Google Search Console and verify your website.
- Add your property: Add your website to Google Search Console and verify ownership.
- Request indexing: Go to the “URL Inspection” tab and copy the page you want to be listed.
- Verify the request: Google will verify the request and crawl your page.

If your not sure if your pages are indexed on google, please check the Google Search Console for Page Indexing and search for “Crawled – currently not indexed” as seen in the screenshot below. Please ensure your page has high-quality, relevant, and unique content to increase the chances of being indexed.
- Index your Page: Click the pages section on Google Search Console.
- Find the page you wish to index: Find your post, page or product in the non-indexed section of Google Search Console.
- Inspect URL: Google will verify the request and crawl your page.
After the inspection is done by Google Crawlers, as seen in the screenshot below this page is not indexed but I can now Request Indexing for Google to list my page. This feature is very handy if you have just created a new post, page or product and wish for instant indexing.
Using Sitemaps
With any WordPress website you create you must have a sitemap ready for search engines such as Google and Bing. Once you create a sitemap for your website and submit it to Google Search Console, the crawlers can easily read your newly created web pages for quicker indexing on the search engines. Once your sitemap is ready, follow these 2 steps on Google Search Console.
- Submit the sitemap: Submit the sitemap to Google Search Console.
- Wait for indexing: Wait for Google to crawl and index your sitemap.
